Trust and obey
For there is no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and obey
A Song of Trust
I woke up this morning recalling this song I had learned decades ago as a child. God is in control. Even though at this time we may not see the whole picture, Christians are commanded to live by faith. Think about it, maybe God is giving us a wakeup call before He returns for the true believers in Christ! What I do believe is that we are in the “last days” and Jesus is coming again for His church. No one here knows the exact time, but we are told that God the Father in heaven does.
A Big God
I also know that nothing is impossible with our God. Our brightest scientists have told us that we live in a universe that is composed of 100 billion galaxies, and each galaxy has 100 billion stars. The truth is we don’t know how big the universe we live in is, and we really can’t comprehend it.
Have you ever tried to count the stars in one galaxy? How long would it take a person, if he could count one star a second, to number the stars in one galaxy? Let’s do the math. In one year there are 31,557,600 seconds. If we divide 100,000,000,000 stars/galaxy by 31,557,600 seconds/year that equals 3,168.8 years for a person to count the stars in one galaxy! Remember there are 100 billion galaxies! If you are like me, we would probably make mistakes in our counting and need to start over. Heaven only knows how long it would take for me to count the stars in one galaxy. Probably forever. (For all those overachievers out there, if you wanted to take a crack at counting all the stars in the universe’s 100 billion galaxies, multiply the 3,168.8 years for 1 galaxy by 100 billion).
What is my point? We have a very, very big universe and an even bigger God that we serve. With God, nothing is impossible! The signs are all around us, whether we want to accept it or not.
Looking to Him Today
Stop and think about what has happened to the world because of the coronavirus. We have an economy that has been shut down, which now needs to recover. What about the rest of the world we live in? They are likely in far worse shape than the United States of America. It will take time to recover. What is our government going to do in the meantime? Perhaps throw more money at it by printing trillions of additional dollars. Is that going to work? Probably not. Prayer is needed for the believer in Christ to survive. Put your faith in Jesus Christ and pray for God’s guidance for our country, for our world, for others, and for yourself. Jesus Christ is there waiting and wanting you to look to Him. God has promised to answer the prayers of His children.
Love in Jesus,
Harold Alexander
