Cain and Abel

We have to learn how to disagree without being disagreeable.

Cain

• Did what he thought was best, not what God wanted
• Angry at Abel because Abel did the right thing
• Never repented of his sin - Genesis 4:15
• His sin had far-reaching consequences in his descendants - Genesis 4:23
• Men finally started to turn back to God - Genesis 4:26

Application

• Are we our brother's keeper? Who is our brother? - Luke 15
• Sin always has consequences
  • Sin will take you further than than you wanted to go
  • Sin will cost you more than you wanted to pay
  • Sin separates people
• At the end of the day
  • Live to please God
  • Live peaceably with all men
